Super nutritious, grass-like mustard green also known as 'seaweed on land'. 2in (5cm) long, deep green matchstick leaves are wonderful source of calcium, potassium and vitamins. Young leaves are tender, salty and tart with a succulent texture, making it perfect for eating fresh or lightly steamed. It also makes great microgreen variety, which can be added to other microgreen mixes, providing a special, salty touch. It takes 10-14 days to microgreens and 30-40 days to full maturity. For eating fresh, the leaves can be blanched in salty water, then refreshed in an ice bath and added to salads. For steaming, steam lightly for a few minutes and serve with mustard or vinegar.
Growing: Prefers mild and cool temperatures. Pre-chill seeds for 7 days at 41F (5C) for better germination. Germination temp. 68-86F (20-30C) for 14 days.
Soil: fertile, well-drained soil.
Sowing depth: 1/8-1/4in (0.3-0.6cm).
Spacing: 1/2-1in (1.2-2.5cm). Thin to: 4-6 (10-15cm).
Row Distance: 18-24in (45-61cm).
Watering: regular to keep the soil moist yet not soggy.
