Hardy biennial plant with fantastic nutty aroma and flavour that makes a great addition to the usual salads, garnishes, braising mixes etc. Easy and fast growing its fresh leaves can be continuously harvested throughout the season. Posses great nutritional value and fibber content. Can be grown outdoors or indoors in balconies or windowsills.
Growing: Temperate climates: early spring, indoors, 4-6 weeks prior the danger of last frost is gone; direct seeding 2-3 weeks prior the last frost date. Warm climates: year round avoiding rain season.
Soil: well drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6-6.8, preferably rich in organic matter.
Sowing depth: 0.5cm (0.2in). Sprinkle the seeds on the surface of the soil and barely cover.
Spacing: 12-18in (30-45cm) apart.
Light: full sun/partial shade.
Watering: regular to keep the soil moist, but not soggy.
Fertilizing: recommended.
