Tomato ‘Black Russian’, 20 seeds (Solanum lycopersicum) Vegetable Heirloom

Highly productive indeterminate heirloom variety setting large (250-400g) fruits with a rich mahogany to almost black color. It’s a very popular variety among many tomato lovers that appreciate not only its unique color, but also its sweet, rich, complex flavor with a slight touch of acid at the end. This variety is ideal diced added to salads, salsas, eaten sliced and used in sandwiches. The plant can reach up to 2m, so perfect for places with more space. Can be grown in spacious containers, pots or directly in the ground. Matures in 75 days after seeds germination.

Planting season: Year round in tropical climates; In temperate climates plant indoors 4-6 weeks prior the last frost is gone and transplant outdoors after the danger of all frost is gone.
Soil: Sow the seeds inside light, fertile, well-draining soil, preferably rich in organic matter with a pH between 6-7.
Sowing depth: 0.6cm deep.
Light: Position containers/pots in a bright location with plenty of sunlight. Tomatoes need to get at least 6h of sunlight a day. If natural light isn’t available, place under the growing lights.
Watering: Water moderately to make sure the soil is moist but not wet. Adding more moisture on a still moist soil makes it too wet in deeper layers of the soil, which causes the rot of the seeds/roots. Best to water when the soil is dry to the touch.
Fertilizing: Adding fertilizer regularly ensures healthy growth and fruiting. We highly recommend usingTSM Organic Growth Activator to speed up the germination of the seeds, support healthy growth and promote high yields.
Pollination: For pollinating the flowers, you can either shake them or use an electric toothbrush/cotton swab to vibrate each flower. Tomato plants need pollination for setting the fruits.
Pests & diseases: moulds, mildews, fungal diseases, fruit fly, blosson-end rot, whiteflies, aphids, tomato mites. We highly recommend using TSM Organic Neem Oil for a natural overall protection and treatment of various pests and diseases.
Companion plants: basils, marigolds, borage, nasturtiums, peppers, sage, lettuce, thyme.

The TSM Guarantee: It's our promise to ensure that all our products are strictly Non-GMO, and free from any possible harmful chemical compounds. All come from trusted and carefully selected small non commercial farmers worldwide providing fresh, safe supply.
