Planting Season: year round in tropical climates; in temperate climates sow the seeds indoors 6-10 weeks prior the last frost date and transplant seedlings outdoors after the danger of last frost is gone.
Soil: fertile soil which drains well and is neutral to slightly acid (pH 6.0 to 7.0). Light, sandy soil is ideal.
Sowing depth: pressing down lightly on them to be sure they are in contact with the growing medium. Do not cover petunia seeds with soil, because they need light to germinate. Water from below so the seeds are not disturbed. Petunias will germinate in 5 to 15 days.
Light: While petunias will bloom in bright, indirect light, they do their best in full sun. For the best results they should get at least 6h of sunlight. If afternoon sun is burning hot, provide some shade.
Moisture: water regularly to keep the soil moist but not wet. Best when soil starts to get dry to the touch.
Fertilizing: we highly recommend using TSM Organic Growth Activator to speed up the germination of the seeds, support healthy growth and promote abundant flowering.
Pests & diseases: aphids, caterpillars. Susceptible to several viruses such as curly top, mosaic, ringspot, and spotted wilt. We highly recommend using TSM Organic Neem Oil for a natural overall protection & treatments against pests and diseases.
Companion plants: cucumbers, tomatoes, arugula, peppers.
