Pepper Hot 'Pot Black' 5 Seeds (Capsicum annuum) Vegetable Heirloom

This British-bred variety is very attractive and compact with dark green, black-tinted leaves and amazing purple flowers.  Fruits are small, approximately 3-4 cm long and black ripening to red. Ideal for growing in pots, likes a position in full sun on a patio or windowsill, and usually only reaches approximately 60cm tall and 40cm wide. Harvest in 90 days. Warm climate annual. Heat Level: Hot - approximately 30,000-50,000 SHUs. Perfect addition to the usual meals. If you’re looking for a chili that’s beautiful and packs a punch, then the “Pot Black” is for you.

Growing: Planting season: year round in warm/tropical climates; in temperate climates - early spring for transplant starting 8-12 weeks prior the last frost date, or direct seeding 2-4 weeks after the expected frost date.

Soil temp: 68F (+20C) and above;

Soil: well drained, fertile soil rich in organic matter. Peppers are heavy feeders, consider adding additional compost to the soil before planting.

Sowing depth: 1/4-1/2in (0.6-1.2cm) deep inside soil trays or pots. Transfer to 3-4in (7-10cm) pots when true leaves appear. When transplanting, bury seedlings up the stems up to their leaves.

Germination period: 14-20 days.

Plant space: 12-24in (30-60cm) apart.

Light: full sun;

Moisture: regular watering to keep the soil moist (not wet).

Fertilizing: Needed, as peppers are heavy feeders.
