Annual, 20cm (7.8in) tall, long and abundantly blooming flowers. Tiny, wine red, almost burgundy colour blossoms are stacked to round racemes composed of 30-35 blossoms. Looks especially lively and vivid grown in pots, flower gardens, balconies. Resistant to unfavourable growing conditions. Grows best in fertile soil and warm, bright, sunny locations. Withstands drought well.
Planting: As verbena seeds require darkness for germination, plant seeds outdoors in fall or early spring, 12-14 weeks before last frost. Cover the seeds thoroughly with a dark plastic sheet or other black covering. Seeds require a temperature of 70-75F (21-24C) to germinate. Germination can take up to a month or more.
Soil: Well drained soil.
Sowing depth: 1/8 inch (.3 cm) deep.
Spacing: 24 inches (60 cm) apart.
Light: Full sun.
Watering: Water sparingly, as roots are prone to root rot.
Matures in 90-110 days.
