Tomato 'Roma VF' 40-60 Seeds (Lycopersicum esculentum) Vegetable Heirloom

Medium early, dwarf, disease resistant variety ready for harvest in 110-125 days after seeds germination. Plant reaches 35-60cm (11.8-23.6in) tall; fruits are oblong, red, each weighing 60-80g (2.11-2.82oz). This heirloom is especially suitable for sauce and juice making for its high juice content and beautiful acidic flavor. Suitable for growing outdoors, indoors and inside polyethylene green houses.

Growing:

Planting season: Can be grown year round in warm climates. For temperate climates start the seeds 6-8 weeks prior the last frost is gone.

Soil: Sow the seeds using peat pots or sow in flats, using soiless peat-based mix (peat tablets). Alternatively, plant inside light, fertile, well-draining soil, preferably rich in organic matter with a pH between 6-7.

Sowing depth: 1/4in (0.6cm) deep.

Store containers in room of 70-80F (21-27C) until germination occurs. Tomato seeds do not need light to germinate! When seeds germinate, move containers to a warm, bright location with plenty of sunlight or under grow lights.

Light: full sun (at least 6h a day).

Watering: Water regularly to make sure the soil is moist, yet not soggy, as excess water causes the rot of the seeds/roots. Best to water, when soil is dry to the touch.

Transplant outdoors when seedlings reach 6in (15.2cm) tall and develop their first true leaves, after the danger of last frost is gone.

Fertilizing: Regular fertilizing is highly recommended to support healthy and robust growth.
