Annual, one of the tallest flowers growing up to 200cm (78.7in) tall. Grown for decorating summer cottages, yards etc. Grows best in well drained, fertile, light soil and warm, bright location protected from winds.
Planting: After last spring frost, when the soil is approximately 60°F (16°C). Better suited for advanced growers in warm climates.
Soil: Loose, well-drained and fertile soil.
Sowing Depth: 1 inch (2.5 cm) deep.
Spacing: At least 6 inches (15 cm) apart.
Light: Full sun.
Watering: Water infrequently and deeply, unless weather is dry; then water once a week.
Fertilizing: Recommended for full bloom.
Matures in 3-4 months. Sunflowers can be harvested about 30-45 days after fully maturing for their seeds.
