Scarlet Runner Bean 'Red' 10-20 of Seeds (Phaseolus coccineus L.) Flower Heirloom

Annual, long and heavily yielding decorative bean variety native to tropical America, that is valued for its very easy and fast growing habit & bright red, attractive flowers. Flowers are irregular shaped stacked into small brooms. Looks wonderful as decorative plant producing 17-22cm long bean pods with large, colorful, superb flavoured beans that are best in stews, soups, baked, salads. The plant itself reaches up to 4m tall and required stalking support. Grows best in bright, warm partial shade, not picky about the soil. Not cold resistant. Harvest in 100 days after planting. 

Growing: year round in tropical climate; in temperate climates sow the seeds few weeks prior the last frost indoor and transplant after the danger of all frost is gone.

Soil: light to medium heavy, fertile, well-draining soil.
Sowing depth: 5-7cm deep.
Spacing: 10-20cm apart. If grown in the containers, choose at least 20l container or more.
Light: full sun/partial shade. If afternoon sun is burning hot, provide some shade, especially for young seedlings.
Watering: regular to keep the soil moist, but not wet.
Fertilizing: light application, as heavy feeding leads to limited amount of fruits. We highly recommend using TSM Organic Growth Activator to speed up the germination of the seeds, support healthy growth and promote high yields.
Seeds germinate in 7-14 days.
Companion plants: strawberries, radishes, celeries.
