Unique looking, very attractive variety reminding of pear from its shape. Posses eye catching, blue color skin, which opens up to a bright orange, tender, superb sweet flesh inside. One plant sets 2-3 good quality fruits, each weighing 1-2kg. Posses especially good flavour and goes fantastic in salads, soups, stews, stir-fries, baked and pastries. Contains rich nutritional value. Pumpkins love fertile soil and warm, humid conditions, so will do esp. in similar environment.
Growing: year round in tropical climates; In temperate climates plant indoors 4-6 weeks prior the last frost date and transplant after the last frost is gone and temp has well warmed up.
Soil: well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Add aged compost or commercial organic planting mix to planting beds ahead of planting and turn the soil to 30cm deep. Preferred soil pH: 5.5 to 6.8.
Planting depth: 1.2cm deep.
Germination period: within 7 days.
Container depth (if grown in containers): at least 30cm across and as deep. Choose a smaller growing variety for container growing.
Light: full sun. At least 8h a day.
Moisture: regular watering to keep the soil moist but not soggy.
