Garden Cosmos 'Sea Shells' 150 Seeds (Cosmos bipinnatus) Flower Heirloom

This delightful mix is filled with large, showy blooms that have fluted, tubular petals that resemble seashells. Flowers come in a sweet pastel mix of pink, rose, white, carmine and other unique bicolors. An eye catching lovely addition to the cutting garden or flower border and one of the easiest and most productive cut flowers to grown in own garden. Grows to 90-106 cm tall. Matures in 75-90 days.

Growing: Year round in tropical climates, as they love hot weather and thrive in any humidity level. For temperate climates sow in early spring, indoors, starting the seeds 4-6 weeks prior the danger of last frost is gone or direct seeding after the danger of last frost is gone and soil is workable.
Soil: Cosmos perform best in neutral, medium moisture, well-drained soils with a pH of 6.0 to 8.0, although they will grow in poor soil where many flowering plants languish. Avoid planting in a rich soil; it can cause the plants to get too tall and flop over. Germination takes about 10 days.
Depth: 3mm deep (sprinkle the seeds on the surface of the soil and lightly press. Do not cover with extra layer of soil as seeds need light to germinate).
Matured cosmos tends to self-seed.
Spacing: 20-30 cm apart.
Light: full sun/partial shade.
Moisture: water regularly to keep the soil moist, but not wet. Best, when soil starts to get dry to the touch.
Fertilizing: not recommended. Fertilizing can negatively impact the cosmos. Cosmos can handle poor soil. Too much fertilizer can often lead to strong plants with lots of foliage but few blooms. Unless your plants seem to be struggling, these plants do not need fertilizer.
