Traditional variety from southern France catching the eye with its perfectly round body and smooth, shinny black skin. Robust and bushy plants set lovely, 250g weighing fruits that are the size of a grapefruit and posses tender flesh with smooth, buttery, rich flavour making it a wonderful variety for stuffing, frying, baking. It's almost perfectly round shape makes it look like a huge berry. Matures in 70-80 days.
Growing: Planting season: Year round in tropical climate avoiding rainy season. In temperate climate - spring, indoors, 2months before the soil warms up.
Soil: Sandy, fertile, well drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil.
Sowing depth: 1cm (0.4in) deep.
Spacing: place 3-4in (7-10cm) tall seedlings 24-30in (61-76cm) apart in well prepared beds.
Light: full sun.
Watering: regular to keep the soil moist.
Fertilizing: apply a balanced fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season.
