Tomato 'Buffalo Steak' 10 Seeds (Lycopersicon esculentum) Vegetable Heirloom

Large, bright red fruits with a sun-warmed, old fashioned flavour and rich, meaty flesh - this beefsteak variety has it all! This vigorous tomato starts producing crops earlier than other beefsteak tomatoes. Cropping continues for months on end, keeping you well supplied with flavoursome fruits throughout summer. Perfect for sandwiches or slicing into burgers. This cordon variety is perfect for containers or planters in the greenhouse or on the patio, but can also be planted in a sunny spot in the garden Height: 200cm (79"). Spread: 50cm (20"). Matures in 75-80 days after seedlings emerge.

Companion planting: Try growing tomatoes with French Marigolds to deter whitefly, and basil, chives or mint to deter aphids and other pests.

Growing: Year round in tropical climates; In temperate climates plant indoors 4-6 weeks prior the last frost is gone and transplant outdoors after the danger of all frost is gone.
Soil: Sow the seeds inside light, fertile, well-draining soil, preferably rich in organic matter with a pH between 6-7.
Sowing depth: 0.6cm deep.
Light: Position containers/pots in a bright location with plenty of sunlight. Tomatoes need to get at least 6h of sunlight a day. If natural light isn’t available, place under the growing lights.
Watering: Water moderately to make sure the soil is moist but not wet. Adding more moisture on a still moist soil makes it too wet in deeper layers of the soil, which causes the rot of the seeds/roots. Best to water when the soil is dry to the touch.
Fertilizing: Adding fertilizer regularly ensures healthy growth and fruiting. We highly recommend using TSM Organic Growth Activator to speed up the germination of the seeds, support healthy growth and promote high yields.
Pollination: For pollinating the flowers, you can either shake them or use an electric toothbrush/cotton swab to vibrate each flower. Tomato plants need pollination for setting the fruits.
Pests & diseases: moulds, mildews, fungal diseases, fruit fly, blosson-end rot, whiteflies, aphids, tomato mites. We highly recommend using TSM Organic Neem Oil for a natural overall protection and treatment of various pests and diseases.
