Morning Glory 'Milky Way' (Ipomoea purpurea) - A glorious climber which is free flowering and self clinging. Spreading pure snow white elegance wherever it should wander. Milky Way features the purest white blooms flanked by rich maroon striping. Vigorous and ideal for quick effect. Height: 120-180cm (4-6ft). This classic twining vine rockets 2–4 m skyward on heart-shaped emerald leaves, transforming fences, pergolas, and balconies into living walls of outstanding blooms that open at sunrise and perfume the humid air with sweet almond-vanilla nectar.

Growing: Nick hard seed coat with a nail file or soak 24 h in 30°C water (germination 75–90%). Sow anytime in tropics – rainy season for fastest growth. Bury 1 cm deep in pots or directly at support base.
Germination: 5–10 days.
Spacing: 20–30 cm apart; thin to strongest vines.
Timing: Blooms 6–8 weeks after sowing; plant monthly for continuous color waves.
Light: Full sun (6–8 h); tolerates light shade in 35°C+ heat.
Soil: Rich, well-draining loam, pH 6.0–7.5. Amend clay with 30% compost + sand. Raised beds or pots (15 L+) with drainage holes are perfect.
Support: Trellis, netting, or wires 2.5–4 m tall – vines climb 30–50 cm/week.
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist during establishment; reduce once rooted. Water 2–3 cm/week in dry periods.
Fertilizing: Apply balanced liquid fertilizer (10-10-10) monthly at half strength.
